You Heard it Here First; Pilot episode
Outcast State of Mind presents “You heard it here first,” a series.
Fun Fact:
The New York Highlanders were renamed the “Yankees” in 1913; since then, 103 years have passed, each year causing Yankees fans to resoundingly claim “The Yanks’ are gonna win the World Series.” Did you know they’ve only won it 27 times? That’s a lot of missed predictions. Arrogant New Yorkers.
Here’s the thing. Sports fans love to make predictions, and we almost always predict positive outcomes for our favorite teams, even if that team happens to be the Cleveland Browns or the Philadelphia 76ers. Smart fans are realists; like knowing that signing Rajon Rondo was a waste of time- he used all his good years in Boston for the Celtics. Good job Chicago Bulls. Also, Dwayne Wade? Really? Come now. I thought the New York Yankees were the only sports team that believed signing aging veterans was a good idea.
So here comes the point. Get ready for some predictions that will probably be wrong, but might be right. Brace yourselves.
The Buffalo Bills win a playoff game next season
The Philadelphia fans stop “trusting the process” this season
James Harden wins a Defensive Player of the Year award this season
David Ortiz will come out of retirement and hit more home runs than Bartolo
David Price pitches well in the postseason this year
Leicester City will win the Premier League again, on exactly the same day Michael Jackson is found alive
The Chicago Cubs repeat as World Series Champions
Conor McGregor loses to Floyd Mayweather
The New York Highlanders, I mean Yankees, will finish dead last in the division at 0-162 this year
The Cleveland Browns will finish next season with a winning record
There you have it. You heard it here first.
If you really have no clue what else to do tonight, I recommend eating an entire pizza by yourself, and then watching Space Jam in spanish.
Have a lovely day.
