2018 Hall Of Fame Way Too Early Predictions
Another Hall of Fame election has passed and this year the writers have chosen 3 players to induct into Cooperstown; Tim Raines, Ivan Rodriguez, and Jeff Bagwell.
Next years predictions:
Vladimir Guerrero- He received 71% of the vote for his first year on the ballot so we can expect his day is coming soon, not to mention his numbers are more than worthy of a hall of fame induction.
Edgar Martinez- Personally I feel that in order for specialty players Trevor Hoffman to be inducted, and in the future, Mariano Rivera, you cannot induct them without inducting the greatest specialty player of all time, Edgar Martinez. For crying out loud the guy has an award named after him for the best DH in the AL.
Trevor Hoffman- With that being said Trevor Hoffman is second to only Mariano Rivera in saves and was only 1% shy of an induction so we can also expect him to get in next year without a problem. Oh, and he also has an award named after him.
Mike Mussina- His numbers are Hall of Fame caliber, then you take into account that Mussina pitched right smack in the middle of the steroid era. He should be a shoe in in my opinion.
Chipper Jones- Arguably one of the top 10 third baseman of all time, and coming from a Mets fan that is saying something. Larry will be a first ballot Hall of Famer for sure.
All the players listed above may not get in next year but definantly sometime in the near future.
